You have 24 hours. Drag to sleep more.

Sleep8h
Screen Time16h
Drag the handle on the pie

When one gets bigger, the other gets smaller. That is an inverse relationship.

You just dragged sleep from 8 hours to 12 hours. Screen time went from 16 to 12. When one went UP, the other went ___.

DOWN. They moved in opposite directions. That is the pattern.

Frequency3 Hz
Period333 ms
Drag left/right to change frequency

As frequency -- how many times the wave repeats each second (measured in Hz) goes up, period -- how long one complete cycle takes goes down. You can see it in the waves and hear it in the pitch.

Drag the dot. As one goes up, the other goes down -- just like the pie chart and the sound waves.

When two things are inversely related, the graph curves down from left to right.

Frequency5.5 MHz
Period0.18 us
Drag either side of the seesaw
SPI Registry

The inverse relationship between frequency and period is important for the registry. Period = 1 / Frequency. You do not need to memorize the formula -- just remember the pattern: when one goes up, the other goes down.

Quick Check

You start exercising 4 days a week instead of 1. Over time, your resting heart rate drops. Is exercise frequency and resting heart rate an inverse relationship?
You drag the frequency handle higher. What do you hear?
On the Netflix vs. Study graph, you drag the dot to 7 hours of Netflix. What happens to study hours?
A sonographer increases the transducer frequency from 3 MHz to 7 MHz. What happens to the period?
Which of these is NOT an inverse relationship?
